Once again I have occasion to ask myself: why do I live where the air hurts my face?

@erinbydesign I'm imagining, like, 2 100 square foot efficiencies in there so they can claim they have "affordable units"

@skoobz there's not even, like, a playground! I realize there aren't a ton of kids living downtown but there surely are some

(Also I realize this isn't the full depiction but there's just not room for much else besides the huge complex they show)

@chrisdejabet kinda disappointed, not surprised. I'm also looking forward to the Jamaica north trail being connected to the Haymarket, I hope that's still planned

@aquatoad I've still never been to block 16 but keep hearing such great things

Don't get me wrong I am all for more housing, especially if some of it is actually affordable, but I find it hard to believe any of it will *actually* be what I consider affordable. I was really looking forward to having a little dog park closer to me though

This is not at all what I thought was going to go in this parcel of land. Did I totally dream that they said a dog park would go in here? This "park" depicted in the flyover is just a tiny patch of grass? 1011now.com/2023/01/26/city-se

USPS has always delivered my mail between 4-5pm in the 14 years I've lived at this house

Just this last week it has switched to 10am. I wonder what changed?

@cpultz I once bit into an apple and found part of a worm

Since then if at all possible I slice my apple before eating it

Me: [singing louder than I intended to while looking through the pantry]

M, our student from Brazil: [appears out of nowhere]

Me: [stops singing]

Both: [awkward pause]

M: You have a song about ... canning peaches?

Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The 90's were a strange time.

@mrwilson but that would make sense (I hope everything is ok!)

@Dionysus that's too bad. My husband's 30ish year long group kind split recently too. It was a good run anyway

Are you mostly into d&d or are there other games you like?

So if anyone in Lincoln NE had a gaming group that would welcome a new player/GM with 35+ years of RPG experience, please let me know.

Help me out, fediverse. How many of you feel extreme vicarious discomfort when watching particularly embarrassing or cringey scenes in movies or shows? Yesterday I had to turn off Cobra Kai because a situation made me so uncomfortable that it was negatively affecting my running on the treadmill.

Is that common? Which situations affect you the most?

I have spent my day looking at the ice building up on the lilac branches, unable to concentrate on anything else.

Thanks to @codacode for telling me the stuff falling right now is called "graupel"

When it comes to snowfall totals in , nobody ever went broke betting the under.
